IoT Pro
Industrial I/O Module
A general-purpose, retrofit industrial input/output module designed to interface with a wide range of digital, analog, and sensor signals, forming the foundation for custom and application-specific IoT Pro deployments, and built on the IoT Pro industrial hardware architecture.
Product Code: IOTPRO-INDUSTRIAL-IO-MODULE
Product Overview
The IoT Pro – Industrial I/O Module is a general-purpose industrial input/output device designed to interface with physical signals, sensors, and control points commonly found in industrial, utility, and infrastructure environments.
Unlike application-specific modules, this device is intentionally signal-agnostic. It provides a flexible set of digital inputs, analog inputs, and digital outputs that allow system integrators to build custom monitoring and control solutions without requiring bespoke hardware design.
From a system architecture perspective, the module functions as a generic edge I/O acquisition and control node, providing deterministic behaviour, long-term stability, and predictable data structures suitable for:

Custom equipment monitoring
Infrastructure retrofits
Pilot projects and proof-of-concept deployments
Applications that fall outside standard product categories
This module also serves as the base hardware platform for several other IoT Pro products (such as Temperature and Temperature & Humidity modules), ensuring architectural consistency across standard and bespoke deployments.
Typical Installation Points
The IoT Pro Industrial I/O Module is typically installed wherever physical signals need to be monitored or controlled, but no dedicated off-the-shelf monitoring device exists. These installations often involve heterogeneous signals, limited documentation, and a need for adaptability rather than rigid product definitions.

Channel Architecture
The IoT Pro Industrial I/O Module is implemented as a configurable multi-channel I/O platform, allowing each channel to be assigned based on application requirements rather than fixed function.
In addition to acting as a standalone I/O device, this flexibility allows the module to be repurposed across projects without hardware changes.

Additional I/O Interfaces
In addition to electrical metering, the hardware platform is pre-engineered to support additional sensing and control interfaces for combined or future-use deployments.

Digital Inputs
6 x Configurable Inputs
Dry Contact Inputs
Pulse Inputs
Temperature Probes (DS18B20)
These inputs monitor contact-based signals and events like door status, switches, tamper contacts, equipment run/faults, temperature channels, and meter or sensor pulses.
Analog Input
1 x 0-30 V Voltage Input
1 × 4–20 mA Analog Input
These inputs enable integration of standard industrial instrumentation without additional interface hardware.
Digital Output
2 x Digital Open-Drain Output
500 mA Continuous Current
Up to 1 A Pulse Capability
These outputs may be used for relay driving, signalling, or interfacing with external equipment where local actuation or indication is required.
IoT Pro Hardware Architecture
The IoT Pro Industrial I/O Module is built on the IoT Pro Hardware Architecture, a modular industrial platform shared across all IoT Pro devices.
This platform defines common characteristics such as power behaviour, enclosure design, environmental protection, security principles, lifecycle management, and long-term hardware availability.

Power-Intelligent, Long-Life Operation
Supports multi-year autonomous operation or external DC supply with battery backup, enabling reliable monitoring even in locations with intermittent or unreliable power.
Flexible Connectivity, One Integration Model
Supports LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, LTE Cat-1, and Wi-Fi using a single, stable integration protocol, allowing deployment in deep indoor cabinets, remote infrastructure, or customer-owned networks without changing software integration.
Antenna & Mechanical Configuration Flexibility
Supports internal antennas for robustness, as well as external SMA and through-lid antenna configurations where enclosure placement or RF attenuation would otherwise limit connectivity.
Modularity for Custom Applications
The combination of configurable I/O, optional GNSS capability, and consistent platform behaviour enables rapid development of custom applications without hardware redesign.
System Integration Context
The IoT Pro Industrial I/O Module is designed to integrate as a generic building block within IoT Pro solutions and third-party platforms, particularly where application requirements do not align with pre-defined products.
It is commonly used in:
-
Custom equipment monitoring and control
-
Infrastructure retrofits
-
Pilot projects and phased rollouts
-
OEM-style integrations built on IoT Pro hardware
This module provides the flexibility to define the application in software based on settings, while relying on a proven and stable hardware foundation.

Technical Documentation
All documentation is written for software integrators, system engineers, and deployment teams and aligns with the IoT Pro platform architecture.
