Gain full visibility and control over diesel fuel with real-time tank level monitoring, live alerts, and detailed refuelling logs to prevent misuse, detect theft, and avoid unexpected runouts from your mobile device.
A diesel fuel management system is installed on an existing diesel tank to provide accurate, real-time fuel level monitoring and full control over fuel dispensing.
The system measures the absolute diesel level inside the tank, can enable or disable the fuel pump, and securely records every refuelling event. Each transaction is logged with details of who took the fuel, how much was dispensed, and which asset was refuelled, ensuring full accountability and traceability.
The system can monitor all types of diesel tanks, including horizontal and vertical cylindrical tanks, rectangular or custom-shaped tanks, and capacities ranging typically from 250 litres up to 50,000 litres.
Both above-ground and underground tanks can be monitored. Where mobile signal strength is limited, an external antenna can be installed to ensure reliable connectivity.
Installation & Compatibility
Yes. The system is designed for retrofit installation on existing or new diesel tanks.
In most cases, an existing port is used to install the fuel level probe. If no suitable port is available, a small adapter can be installed on the tank lid only. This process does not cause downtime, and any adapter used can later be sealed or reused for standard sensors.
No. Installation does not require draining the diesel tank or stopping operations.
The fuel level sensor is inserted from the top of the tank and starts measuring the diesel level immediately, without affecting fuel availability or site activity.
Yes. The system is compatible with existing fuel pumps and dispensing systems.
It can also directly control the pump and accurately measure dispensed fuel using a pulse meter. If a fuel dispensing system already exists, IoT Pro can either monitor tank levels only or fully replace and manage the dispensing process, depending on your requirements.
Fuel Control, Theft & Accountability
Yes. Every fuel withdrawal is fully authenticated and recorded.
Users are identified using iButton authentication, and assets can optionally be authenticated using QR code stickers and scanners. The system will only dispense fuel once both the user and the asset are authorised. Each transaction is logged and permanently linked to the individual and the asset.
Yes. The system can generate instant alerts if fuel is withdrawn outside working hours, taken directly from the tank, or dispensed without proper authorisation.
Because the pump remains disabled until both user and asset are authenticated, unauthorised fuel usage and theft are effectively prevented.
Yes. Fuel usage can be linked to specific vehicles, machinery, or portable fuel tanks.
Each asset is identified using a QR code sticker, which is scanned before refuelling, ensuring accurate allocation of fuel usage to the correct asset.
Alerts, Reliability & Operations
Alerts are triggered instantly when fuel levels reach predefined thresholds, or theft is detected.
Notifications can be sent via Email, WhatsApp, SMS, or automated phone calls, and multiple users can be notified simultaneously through multiple channels.
Yes. The system operates 24/7, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
It is ideal for remote sites using cellular connectivity and also continuously monitors its own health, notifying users if any system issue is detected.
The system continues operating even if connectivity is temporarily lost.
All authentication data and transactions are stored locally on the IoT Pro device, allowing refuelling to continue. Once connectivity is restored, all data is automatically synchronised with the cloud platform.
Fuel Management System FAQs
Reporting, Cost Control
Yes. When installed with an existing or new diesel pulse meter, the system can fully replace manual fuel logs with accurate, automated digital records.
If a pulse meter is not used, fuel usage can still be estimated via absolute tank level measurements, although accuracy will be lower compared to pulse-based dispensing data.
Yes. Fuel cost allocation is supported.
The level of accuracy depends on whether fuel usage is measured via a pulse meter (high accuracy) or through absolute tank level changes (lower accuracy). Both methods provide valuable insights for cost tracking and reporting.
