Radar & Tilt Module
Industrial-grade, non-contact level and movement monitoring module using integrated radar and tilt sensing, designed for long-term deployment in stationary tanks, underground assets, moving tankers, and harsh outdoor environments, and built on the IoT Pro hardware architecture.
Product Code: IOTPRO-RADAR-TILT-MODULE
Product Overview
The IoT Pro – Radar & Tilt Module is an integrated radar-based sensing device designed to measure distance, level, and positional changes without physical contact with the monitored material or surface.
At its core, the module incorporates an absolute calibrated radar sensor fully integrated into the IoT Pro enclosure, with the radar lens engineered as part of the housing itself. This eliminates external probes, cables, or exposed transducers, ensuring consistent signal quality and long-term reliability even in aggressive environments.
From a system architecture perspective, the device functions as a non-contact level and movement acquisition node, suitable for both stationary and mobile assets, where simultaneous visibility of tank level and asset location is required from a single product.

In addition to radar-based distance measurement, the module integrates tilt sensing, and optional GNSS positioning, along with auxiliary digital input and control output capabilities. This allows a single device to provide context-aware monitoring across fixed infrastructure and vehicle-mounted tanks.
Typical Installation Points
The IoT Pro Radar & Tilt Module is typically installed at assets where distance, level, presence, or physical movement must be monitored reliably and without physical contact, including both fixed and mobile assets.

Stationary Assets – Level & Distance Monitoring
In these applications, the radar sensor continuously measures the level, distance to surface, or fill percentage of liquids and solids within containers or vessels, enabling accurate inventory tracking, overflow prevention, leak detection, and remote monitoring without the need for contact probes, floats, or manual inspections.

Measurement & Sensing Capabilities
The IoT Pro Radar & Tilt Module is designed to provide reliable non-contact measurements across a wide range of environments, offering a robust and low-maintenance alternative to physical probes while remaining suitable even where probe-based sensing is traditionally used.

Radar-Based Distance & Level Measurement
The integrated radar sensor measures the distance between the device and the material or liquid surface within the radar field of view, allowing level or fill percentage to be derived for tanks and containers of varying shapes and sizes.
Because the radar sensor and lens are fully enclosed within the device housing:
-
No sensor elements are exposed to liquids, vapours, or solids
-
Signal degradation due to corrosion, fouling, or condensation is minimised
-
The same hardware can be used across fuel, water, wastewater, and mixed-material applications
This approach is particularly well suited to sewage, sludge, fuel, and mobile tanker environments, where mechanical probes are more prone to failure.

Integrated Tilt & Movement Detection
The built-in tilt sensor enables detection of:
-
Opening and closing of lids or caps
-
Vehicle motion and orientation changes
-
Unauthorised displacement or tampering
Tilt data can be used to distinguish between normal operational movement and abnormal displacement, improving interpretation of level changes in mobile and tamper-sensitive installations.
