Product Overview
The IoT Pro – Temperature Module is a multi-channel industrial temperature monitoring device designed to interface with external digital temperature probes and convert physical temperature measurements into structured, reliable data for software platforms.
The module is intended for retrofit installation on existing assets, including refrigeration equipment, enclosures, and process-related infrastructure, without modification or replacement of the original equipment.
From a system architecture perspective, the device functions as a dedicated temperature acquisition node at the edge, providing deterministic behaviour, long-term stability, and predictable data structures suitable for continuous monitoring and integration into supervisory systems.

The module is not a thermostat, controller, or local control device and does not interfere with existing control systems. Its role is to provide independent, verifiable temperature measurement data for monitoring, compliance, and operational analysis.
Typical Installation Points
The IoT Pro – Temperature Module is typically deployed at specific physical assets where temperature monitoring is critical. These installations commonly require unattended operation, auditability, and reliable long-term measurement without manual intervention.

Measurement & Sensing Capabilities
The IoT Pro Temperature Module is designed with a focus on measurement accuracy, signal integrity, and predictable behaviour over long deployment lifecycles.

Temperature Measurement Interface
The module uses digital DS18B20 temperature sensors to provide stable, repeatable temperature measurements suitable for industrial and regulated environments.
The same hardware configuration can therefore be deployed across cold-chain, ambient, and elevated-temperature environments without sensor changes.
Extended cable lengths allow probes to be installed inside monitored assets while the main device enclosure is mounted externally in a serviceable location.

IoT Pro Hardware Architecture
The IoT Pro Temperature Module is built on the IoT Pro Hardware Architecture, a modular industrial hardware architecture shared across all IoT Pro devices.
This platform defines common characteristics such as power behaviour, enclosure design, environmental protection, security principles, lifecycle management, and long-term hardware availability.

Power-Intelligent, Long-Life Operation
Supports multi-year battery-powered operation. Where available, the device may also operate from an external power source (e.g. refrigeration compressor supply or building equipment supply) while maintaining battery backup, reducing maintenance requirements and enabling supply monitoring.
Multi-Network Architecture
Supports LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, LTE Cat-1, and Wi-Fi using a single integration model, allowing deployment in locations where cellular coverage is limited and alternative network infrastructure is required.
Antenna & Mechanical Configuration Flexibility
Supplied with an internal antenna for robustness in typical installations, with support for external SMA antennas and multiple antenna configurations where radio conditions are challenging.
Field-Ready Retrofit Design
Designed for installation on existing equipment without downtime or controller replacement. Temperature probes are routed through existing seals or installed using appropriate thermally conductive mounting methods.
Technical Documentation
All documentation is written for software integrators, system engineers, and deployment teams and aligns with the IoT Pro platform architecture.
System Integration Context
The IoT Pro Temperature Module is designed to integrate as a component within broader temperature monitoring, cold-chain compliance, industrial monitoring, and utility infrastructure systems.
